Reflecting

I love this time of year. Although everyday should be a day full of thanksgiving and remembering Jesus as our Lord and Savior, it just seems like it is more apparent this time of year.

In our family we celebrate Christmas with advent candles. Advent refers to the “coming” or “arrival” of Jesus Christ. As we light each candle, one a week for four weeks leading up to Christmas, it helps me ponder and reflect on that special time in history when a baby was born unto us, unlike no other. There is much hope to be found in remembering why Jesus, God in flesh, came to save a broken, lost, and wretched person as myself. I’m sure glad He did.

Yes, I love to reflect on the true gift Jesus Christ has given me, the gift of life. I am whole; I am found; I am a child of God. “But as many received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name,” John 1:12.

There are many who are hurting and searching for this hope. Don’t forget to reflect and remember the gift Jesus has given you, and at the same time be that shining light in someone else’s life.

I pray your Christmas is a blessed one.
