Love your kids like no one else:
God’s word says,” Behold children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb is a reward” (Proverbs 127:3). Oh, I just love that verse.
If I’m reading this correctly, it is telling me children are a gift from the Lord, and we should raise them as such. Deut. 6:7-9 tells us to teach God’s commands, laws, and statutes to our children. It says, “You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise up.”
You see, this is a full time job. There is so much things in this world competing for our children’s attention- the media, friends, video games, busyness of today’s world. We need to be instilling in them God’s values, if we won’t who will.
I know this job does not come easy. It requires a lot of self-sacrifice on our part. It’s a battle none the less, but it’s a battle worth fighting. Our children’s souls are at stake. Would you give your child over to a pack of hungry wolves without a fight? I think not, you would lay your life down for your child.
Think about this, satan hovers around seeking whom he may devour. What better prey than our children.
I won’t go into further detail, because I went into greater detail in my blog post Whose Job is it? and Whose job is it pt 2….. A generation of child are depending on us.
A wise women builds her house, but the foolish tears it down with her own hands” ( Prov. 14:1).
