Heavy Weight pt. 3

As I am sitting here this morning, I keep having two words play over and over again in my mind: Raw Emotion. I like this definition of Raw: unnaturally or painfully exposed, as flesh, by the removal of the skin or natural integument. Are there some painfully raw emotions that are making you feel exposed? Do you have any deep wounds that need to be healed?

I don’t mean to make this sound so heavy and deep, but I truly believe (like me) there are a lot of my fellow sisters who are walking around broken, defeated, and lacking the victory that I know can be theirs.

Now here is another word: REDEMPTION, which means to obtain the release or restoration of, as from captivity, by paying a ransom. Guess what? Jesus Christ paid that ransom! He went to the cross for you. And death could not hold Him there. By the power of God He was raised. And you my sister have the same power working inside of you, which is the Holy Spirit. Galatians 2:20 says, “I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives inside of me; and the life I live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”

As I mentioned previously in my post, I got to the point in my own life where I didn’t want to live under the weight of that heavy burdensome jacket any longer. And I had believed the lies (labels) for far too long. If I really believed what Gal. 2:20 was telling me, it’s saying my identity is in Christ. I have been sealed (Eph. 1:13-14).

It’s time to cast off that weight jacket once and for all. “Therefore, humble yourselves under the mighty had of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your cares upon Him, for He cares for you” (1 Peter 5:6-7). There are days I have to do this every second or minute of the day. Satan does not give up that easily. There are those moment where I do leave those raw emotions unattended and Satan does the job he is so good at, which is bringing condemnation. So, let’s not leave those raw emotions unchecked. Are you in a difficult circumstance right now? Do you doubt that God can move the mountain in your life?

I know there are some wounds that are so raw and deep, but I know God wants to heal you from the inside, out. There is victory to be had. God has given you the power-His power! “For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal by mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled” (2 Cor. 10:3-6).

Christ offers you freedom from personal and spiritual conflicts, freedom from sin and the negative programming of your past, freedom from the damaging effects of guilt and unforgiveness. Freedom opens the pathway to knowing, loving, worshiping and obeying God. It is the joyful experience of living by faith according to what God says is true and in the power of the Holy Spirit, and it means not carrying out the desire of the flesh. It doesn’t mean perfection, but it is a growing and abundant life in Christ who alone can meet our deepest need for life, identity, acceptance, security and significance.
