Yesterday my daughter and I started doing a bible study together. Throughout the years I’ve sat and taught her the word of God, but this was different. It was the first time I looked my 14 yr. old daughter eye to eye, heart to heart, and saw the beautiful young woman that God is molding her to be. At that moment she wasn’t just my little girl, she was that precious baby bird inching her way up the side of the nest preparing for her first flight into this big world. (I don’t know if this mama bird is ready.)
As moms, isn’t that our job to raise, instruct, train our children to the point where they will go out into the world to fulfill the purpose God has for them?
Our children need to know they are unique and wonderfully made in God’s eyes and that God delights and takes great joy, pleasure, and satisfaction in them. Maybe, it’s something that you as the mom need to realize. He delights in you, too.
For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;….. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depth of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. Psalm 139:13-16
You are one of a kind………….rejoice!
Here is a song that has been on my heart this week. We all need to rest in this truth at some point in our lives. Maybe today is the day: Praise You In The Storm, by Casting Crowns
