It brought tears of joy to my eyes as I read this blog post again. Oh, my God has done so much work in my life. And all the work He has done was not apart from Him. The truth is the more I sought after Him the more I had to surrender over to Him…..life, children, marriage, health, finances…and so on. Jesus came and died so I can have a new life that is only found in Him. “I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgements and do them.” Ezekiel 36: 26-27…… I am so glad His work is not complete in me. He will finish the work He has started in me (Phil.1:6) . He will complete the work He has started in you, too. Seek Him above everything else.

Seek God like know one else:
Now, we get to what I consider the “nitty gritty” of everything I’ve discussed in the previous posts of Dare to be Different. None of the previous said things can be accomplished in our own natural abilities, so we have to turn to the one true source that can help us be the very best we can be ~ God Himself. And another thing I must add, I am not promoting perfectionism. We have enough guilt in our lives already without adding another to-do-list to live by. I’m talking about a changed life that only God can bring by His power and strength. Let me move forward with a verse found in the book of Matthew.
But seek fist the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you (Matt. 6:33). What are the things that will be added unto us? Well, if you look back a few verses it states: we do not have to worry what we will eat, drink, or wear for our Heavenly Father knows we needs all of these things. He will take care of your needs. “Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value then they? Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?”(Matt. 6:25-27).
Are you consumed with worry? Are you seeking God’s kingdom above everything else?
I must admit, this one has not come easy for me. All my life I have been a planner. I had my ideas, and I went about trying to make them happen. However, God had a different plan for my life. I wanted what I thought at the time where good things; He wanted what was best. And in the process of it all I am learning that God’s way is best. And, I have also learned that every trail, detour, and hardship I have went through has often land me right where I wanted to be all along. I am so glad there is much peace in knowing God can make all things work for the good to those called according to His purpose (Rom. 8:28). And the good news is there is growth in our lives in the process.
Don’t be afraid to go where God wants to take you.The world around us tugs for our wants and desires. It’s so subtle that we don’t even recognize it at times. We have to be on guard at all times. I know in my own mind I can be distracted so easily by so many things.
Resting in the one true God is the only place to be.
I often remind myself that God is in complete control of everything and like Matt. 17:20 says, “If you have faith as mustard seed……than nothing will be impossible for you”.
Do you believe that? The only way to come to this unwavering truth is by complete surrender.
I prayed years ago that the light of Jesus would shine through me. I’ve come to realize the only way that this is going to happen is by me seeking and remaining in Him constantly (John 15). Believe me when I say there are days it’s second by second, minute by minute, and hour by hour. I fail often. But, praise God for not leaving me or you to do this on our own. The Holy Spirit will be our guide. Seek God with your whole heart and He will be found.
The victory is ours in Christ Jesus!
If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is sitting at the right had of God. Col. 3:1
